Lobby notes

Notes on how the games were chosen.

Each note explains one decision behind the list: why these games, what the seat dots count and where the ratings come from.

Why 8 Ball Pool is not on the list

8 Ball Pool Billiards Multiplayer by Foony was in our first six: a 9.0 rating from 272,585 votes, an online opponent found in about eight seconds, and a room code for friends. We dropped it after reading how Foony's shop works.

Foony sells gems for real money, from a 200-gem bundle up to 4,800 gems priced at 99.99 in its shop code. The same code lists Halloween goodie bags whose contents are rolled at random, sold in a Halloween shop. The game also has free-text chat with your opponent. Mini Golf Club took its place: its coins buy hats and trails at fixed prices.

Why Chess Free is not here either

Chess Free has a 9.0 rating from 222,081 votes. Before an online match it asks you to choose a stake in gold: 10, 50, 200, 1,000 or 2,500. Its shop sells gold for real money, from 50 gold for 0.63 USD to 5,000 gold for 12.99 USD.

A stake in currency that can be bought, placed on the result of a match, is a bet, however small the sums. Its public chat also showed messages from strangers that had nothing to do with chess. The game stays off the list.

What the seat dots count

Each dot is one seat in the largest room a game offers. Soccer Random has two, Paint to Hide! eight, Mini Golf Club ten for a private course. After twelve dots a number takes over: PolyTrack shows +4 for its 16 seats.

StarBlast is the exception. Its dots show the 32 players we counted in one system on 23 October 2026, not a fixed maximum. The game's code allows 60 per system.

Why a rating and its votes can disagree

CrazyGames labels each rating "based on last 6 months", while the vote counts beside it cover every vote ever cast. So the two can drift apart.

PolyTrack is rated 8.9, while 84.6% of its 562,871 all-time votes are thumbs up. We print both numbers as CrazyGames shows them and add no score of our own.

Where the lobby counts come from

The player counts on this site were taken on 23 October 2026 between about 15:30 and 16:30 UK time, from a test browser outside the UK. Public rooms are matched by region, so a UK evening will look different.

That is why the pages say "we saw 32" or "ours had 8" rather than promising a number. Room limits that the games set themselves, such as Skribbl.io's 20 or PolyTrack's 16, do not change with the time of day.
